Integrated approach application of futures study and SWOT in Compilation appropriate strategies for the development of science and technology in Ilam province

Abstract

The purpose of this study is Identifying and prioritizing suitable strategies for the development of science and technology in Ilam province. In this study, three institutions of science, technology and market have been studied. The statistical population of the research was experts, specialists and managers active in universities, technology centers and various economic sectors of the province. In this research, 30 people from the statistical population were purposefully selected and studied. The tools used to collect dozens of questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and discussions in focus groups. The validity of the tool was verified using the triangulation technique in the future research method and in the SWOT model, and its reliability was confirmed using Cronbach's alpha test (0.751 to 0.875). At the end, 15 key variables were identified in the structural analysis stage. These variables were then placed as the main basis of the science and technology development scenario in Ilam province. In the following, a possible, strong and suitable scenario for the development of science and technology in Ilam province was identified. Based on the total final score of each of the internal and external factors using the IEA method, it was determined that the most suitable strategy to achieve the desired scenario for the development of the science and technology sector of Ilam province is an aggressive strategy.
