Innovation and technology is one of the challenging factors and has created uncertain business conditions. Many business sectors are now focusing on competitiveness by improving production processes and other related operations. The purpose of this research is to investigate the role of human resources development in the sustainable competitive advantage of knowledge-based companies located in kerman Science and Technology Park among the employees of the respective companies. The data collection method of this research was through a questionnaire, and its validity and reliability were confirmed according to statistical tests. The statistical population of the research is the employees of the companies located in kerman Science and Technology Park and there are 102 people. Due to the smallness of the statistical population, the statistical sample was considered equal to the population and the research questionnaire was distributed among them and 87 complete questionnaires were collected. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the effects. The findings showed that human resource development has no direct effect on sustainable competitive advantage. In other words, the results of the research hypotheses show that although the development of human resources helps the organization to equip employees with knowledge and ability/expertise in their work and turn them into valuable assets that can be a vital source of competitive advantage. but from the point of view of human resource development staff, it cannot directly affect the competitive advantage of knowledge-based companies. This is because in a knowledge-based industry, human resource development emphasizes a form of learning by doing.
