This article aims to investigate the effects of knowledge acquisition on innovation performance and the moderating effects of human resource management (HRM), in terms of staff retention and human resource management practices, on the above relationship among knowledge-based companies located in Fars Science and Technology Park. In detail, the companies in the sample belong to a large array.
From manufacturing and service industries, industries such as ICT, agriculture, electricity and computers, petrochemicals and chemical industries, renewable energy, hardware, software. This research is based on a survey method. A sample of 134 companies operating in a wide range. Sections were used to collect data through a standardized questionnaire to test hypotheses through OLS regression models. The results show that knowledge acquisition has a positive effect on innovation performance and HRM modulates the relationship between knowledge acquisition and innovation performance. As the tendency to engage in open innovation increases, companies are likely to face tensions and opportunities that lead to changes in human resource management. It starts from the assumption that the company's knowledge base is in the people who work for the company, and that some human resource management factors can influence innovation in companies. However, there is insufficient research to examine the relationship between knowledge acquisition, HRM, and innovation performance under the lens of open innovation. This paper aims to fill this gap and expand future research by assessing whether knowledge acquisition affects innovation performance and whether HRM moderates such a relationship.
Keywords: Innovation Performance, Knowledge Acquisition, Open Innovation, HRM.
